Unix/Linux Administrators (Greenville)

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following tasks associated with day-to-day Linux-Unix server Operations support.

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Resolving ticket-based issues within SLA.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Appropriate escalations.
  • Infrastructure scripting and automation.
  • Performance enhancements.
  • Upgrades and migrations.
  • Unix-based support for mail and printing.
  • Patching and other system maintenance.
  • Adhering to existing documentation.
  • Writing new documentation.
  • Vendor and client interactions, including customer relations.
  • Coordinate with the UNIX, Windows Server, Storage, and Backup teams during planned and unplanned outages.

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

The qualifications for this role will vary according to level and will include:

  • Experience in an enterprise-level global Linux-Unix server environment.
  • Demonstrated success in working directly with internal customers, vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work with little direction or supervision and deliver results.
  • Sun Solaris or Red Hat Linux Desirable (Certification preferred).
  • Experience with other Linux-Unix platforms, including AIX and HPUX.
  • Virtualization (LDOMs, Zones, VMWare).
  • Any experience with EMC or Hitachi Enterprise Storage or Backup solutions would be a plus.
  • Veritas Volume Manager, Filesystem, Cluster.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing clusters (HPC) is a plus.
